Legal Copying & Duplication

Legal Copying in Seattle

Cascade provides high-speed paper evidence duplicating services built for the demands of litigators and their clients. We also provide these services to businesses working to reduce the long-term cost of their document retention programs.

Copy work in litigation is not general office copying. Sets go to opposing counsel, to clients and to the court, which means pagination, labeling and finishing have to be right the first time.

Copy work built for a production, not an office

A litigation copy job is defined by everything that happens around the copying. Documents arrive clipped, stapled, tabbed and in redwelds, and the way they arrive is itself information. Cascade records how a box came in and returns it the same way, because a set that comes back reorganised is a set someone has to reconcile.

The instructions that drive a job are the ones on Cascade’s work order: whether to copy covers and spines, folders, redwelds, Post-its and standard language; whether tabs are reproduced as original, alpha-numeric or custom; whether colour originals come back in colour, in black and white, or colour for photographs only; how oversize pages are handled, folded or rolled; and how the finished sets are bound.

Those choices are why the work order asks as much as it does. Answer them once at the start and the production runs without a phone call at every decision point.

Bates numbering and document production

Cascade applies Bates® labels to paper and electronic sets: you supply the starting number, the prefix and suffix, and whether numbers are spaced, and we produce a continuous, defensible numbering run across the production.

Numbering is the part of a production that is hardest to fix after the fact. A gap, a duplicate or an inconsistent prefix follows a matter through every deposition and every motion that cites it, so the numbering specification is confirmed before the first page runs, not after.

Cascade also produces the physical output a production needs around the numbers: blowbacks from electronic files, custom tabs, slip sheets, colour and oversize pages, and finished sets bound the way the recipient expects them.

Volume, formats and turnaround

Cascade runs black and white, colour and oversize copying in the same shop, so a set that mixes correspondence, photographs and plan sheets does not have to be split between vendors and reassembled.

Copy jobs are quoted on volume, format and deadline. Send the specification, or call with a box count and a due date, and we will quote it before anything runs.

The shop is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so overnight production for a morning filing is normal work rather than a special arrangement.
